Teacher allegedly threw shoe, hit 8-year-old female student’s forehead

ASIA / Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – A Moral Education teacher was alleged to have lost his cool and threw his shoe at a female student who was not paying attention in class.

The Rakyat Post reported on 10th July 2014, Mr Abdul Rahim Jaafar threw this shoe at his student M. Sharmini who was at sitting at the back of the class. The student was alleged to have been hit by the shoe and suffered a gash on her forehead.

The student needed 3 stitches on the forehead.

Her father, municipal council worker K. Muthu, lodged a police report which led to the investigation by the state education department.

The Negeri Sembilan State Department is awaiting the teacher’s response and has transferred him from the Port Dickson school to another school in the meantime.

While the education department awaits the teacher’s response, his new school will be monitoring him closely and provide counselling sessions to understand what caused his actions.
